Digital Workflow, Stage 2: image selection
Last week we looked at archiving RAW files from a shoot. There’s an important point I failed to mention that should be throw in. When I initially back up my RAW files only the blank frames or total disasters get discarded. At this initial stage I don’t like to “chimp” much to make space on …

I have a ton of respect for Scott’s many accomplishments and the great work he and his team do at Kelby Training (the definitive resource for Photoshop and Lightroom instruction). Their …

This practical intro to digital photography studio lighting equipment was really fun to make, I hope you enjoy it. There were so many things worth mentioning, I ended up dividing the video up into two separate, easy-to-digest portions. Part two will follow tomorrow (bumping the tech article back a day). In future video lessons we’ll be studying different qualities …

Monday’s video will be one for the equipment junkies, a photo studio equipment and terminology guide. I’ll be showing you the equipment we use at Daylight Photo: the lights, grids, softboxes, booms, etc., and sharing our terminology. This is prep work for more upcoming lighting videos, so everyone can be on the same page and learn more about controlling light …
