Norm, this followup is great, I'll specifically mention it in this Friday's 'around the net'. It really ties the whole bulb journey together. Because I use strobes for the vast majority of my work this really applies to what is done at the studio on a daily basis.

Hmmm, should I buy a new set of hot lights? And what the heck is up with the Kino Flos and new LED lights coming out on the market?

As for Guinness...many fond memories. Iced Tea, though, there's my muse.

Jim, thanks for the mention! I've added a follow-up post (http://www.gnurple.net/2008/05/03/cfl-vs-incandescent-wrap-up/) with info on strobe light spectra.

The question of beverages was a simple one before you added your clever Iced Tea Fund link at the top.

Before then my answer would have been, without hesitation, a cold Guinness to kick off an evening of relaxation.

Your Iced Tea bit, though, begs the question: which beverage fuels? At the office, a cup of coffee in the morning and of tea in the afternoon inspire me and drive me through the day.
